IBF flyweight champion Nonito Donaire jr. (19W-1L, 12KOs) will most likely defend his crown against mandatory challenger Moruti Mthalane of South Africa on October 11 in Macau. In an interview with the daily morning show “Sports Chat” Wednesday morning, Donaire said he was informed by his manager Cameron Dunkin about the scheduled fight. Donaire would want to have a tune-up fight before the mandatory defense but was told by the IBF about their ruling of not allowing both champion and challenger of any other fight before a mandatory title bout.
