The comeback of the
'Huntington Beach Bad Boy' was rather bitter; after all his preparations and workouts, and his predictions, it all just resulted to a split decision loss to
Forrest Griffin. A split decision?!
Griffin, as we all know, was defeated by
Tito Ortiz on their first meeting via split decision as well. A revenge, this time, was successful.
Griffin played his game well, improved strikes and kicks; he landed combos to Ortiz that had force the latter to do takedowns. Tito Ortiz still has the ground-and-pound ability; this fighting style though was much avoided by Forrest by fighting on feet.
The kicks of Forrest had earned him the points, despite blood lost, that edged Ortiz to a split decision.
It was a great fight and surely the fans enjoyed it.
Despite the loss would this be a trilogy? A lot would wish for it.
