UFC 106: Forrest Griffin defeats Tito Ortiz via Split Decision

The comeback of the 'Huntington Beach Bad Boy' was rather bitter; after all his preparations and workouts, and his predictions, it all just resulted to a split decision loss to Forrest Griffin. A split decision?!

Griffin, as we all know, was defeated by Tito Ortiz on their first meeting via split decision as well. A revenge, this time, was successful.

Griffin played his game well, improved strikes and kicks; he landed combos to Ortiz that had force the latter to do takedowns. Tito Ortiz still has the ground-and-pound ability; this fighting style though was much avoided by Forrest by fighting on feet.

The kicks of Forrest had earned him the points, despite blood lost, that edged Ortiz to a split decision.

It was a great fight and surely the fans enjoyed it.

Despite the loss would this be a trilogy? A lot would wish for it.

Rampage Losses Title to Forrest

Forrest Griffin was knocked down by Quinton "Rampage" Jackson's uppercut in the first round of their UFC Lightheavyweight championship bout but still he was able to hold on and came out the octagon victorious. Griifin had won via a unanimous decision with 48-46, 48-46 and 49-46 scores.

Rampage had strike Forrest very well but the latter countered with some kicks to the left leg. Jackson's left leg was hurt bad that it had affected his stance but Griffin didn't capitalized on that much. Though some believed, including me, that Rampage dominated the fight on the first and last three rounds (of 5 rounds) the decision was somewhat the reverse of what i expected. Well it has been decided and even Rampage Jackson accepted the defeat with humbleness. In the UFC anything could happen. Just get it on!
