Paulie Malignaggi to fight Pacquiao?

If ever it would be 100% confirmed that the supposedly mega-fight between Pound-for-Pound Champion Manny Pacquiao and undefeated Floyd Mayweather is not going to happen on March 2010 it is more likely that the other option of team Pacquiao is former champion Paulie Malignaggi.

It has been said by Top Rank that they have already made an offer to Malignaggi. Now, this would rather be a good fight but Pacquiao-Mayweather would definitely be a great one.

Pavlik brutally beats Espino

WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik (36-1, 32 KOs) scored a brutal fifth round TKO over WBC #3 Miguel Espino (20-3-1, 9 KOs) on Saturday night at the Beeghly Center in Youngstown, Ohio. Both fighters went right at each other immediately and traded punches non-stop. Espino was deducted a point for a punch after the bell in round one. The war continued through rounds two and three. Pavlik dropped Espino twice in round four and after he sent him to the deck in the fifth, Espino’s corner asked referee Steve Smoger to stop the fight. Time was 1:44.

UFC 107: Penn defeated Sanchez

The Prodigy had defeated the Nightmare!

BJ Penn was successful in retaining his belt by stopping Diego Sanchez via TKO due to a big cut on Diego's head, just above his left eye. A very big cut that the doctor called it off; Penn was winning the fight by points though.

It was a very good fight that it even reached the last round. Penn just dominated the whole fight; it started after he landed a devastating hook to the chin of Sanchez that made the latter groggy. That had changed the pacing of the game; the usually furious and fast Diego Sanchez was not playing his game anymore, he was always on-guard.

On the last round, Penn had landed a big head-kick that caused the cut on the head of Sanchez; the worst cut that Diego had, I believe. The fight had to be stopped. When they were showing the replay of that head-kick by Penn, just after that leg left the head of Sanchez the big cut revealed itself in slow motion. So sick.

BJ Penn is victorious once again. Simply amazing!

UFC 107: Mir choked-out Kongo

Frank Mir is the submission-expert in the heavyweights and he had proven it again by defeating Cheick Kongo via guillotine choke in round 1.

Will we be seeing Frank Mir fighting Brock Lesnar for the third time? If yes, then it would be payback time.

UFC 107: Florian defeated Guida

This match was full of adrenalin; a lot of striking. Clay Guida was caught in the head by a slashing elbow of Florian that made Clay bleed a lot. Such a bloody fight. But there should be a winner; Kenny Florian had made Clay Guida submit via rear-naked choke after a devastating right hook in the 2nd round. Good performance by Florian.
