The return of Julio Diaz!

Former lightweight champion Julio Diaz (35-4, 26 KOs) will spend Halloween night inside a ring as he takes on the grizzled veteran Fernando Trejo (30-14-4, 18 KOs) on Friday, Oct. 31, from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino televised on TeleFutura (5 p.m. PT). The ten-round lightweight bout is promoted by Top Rank in association with Sycuan Ringside Promotions of San Diego, Calif. One year removed from his lightweight unification loss to Juan Diaz, Julio plans on making a statement on All Hallows’ Eve. “I think I belong with the best in the lightweight division,” said Diaz, who lives and trains out of Palm Springs, Calif. “My fight against Juan [Diaz] wasn’t the real Julio. You’ll see the real Julio on Halloween night.”

Humberto Soto wins WBC 130lb belt!

Humberto "Zorrita" Soto (45-7-2, 28 KOs) won the WBC interim super featherweight championship with a tenth round TKO over Gamaliel "Platano" Díaz (23-8-2, 10 KOs) on Saturday night at the Coliseo Centenario in Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico. Soto dropped Diaz in round one and after Diaz was deducted two points for continuous holding by referee Lawrence Cole in round ten Diaz' corner decided not to send him out for round eleven, much to the disappointment of the crowd. This was for the same belt Soto failed to when when he was DQ'd against Francisco Lorenzo in June. The WBC refused to recognize Lorenzo and this time Soto was victorious.

Kimbo Slice fell in 14 seconds!

The legend of Kimbo Slice fell down just like the Wall of Jericho. The great brawler, Kimbo, was knock down by MMA veteran Seth "Silver" Petruzelli within 14 seconds. 14seconds?!

The phenomena of Kimbo had been shut down by a young MMA fighter Petruzelli. In the first round, Slice was knocked down by a straight punch to the mouth. Once down Petruzelli, using speed and power, attacked Kimbo with machine-gun punches until the ref stopped the fight. It's all over.

Until now I still can hardly believed what happened on that fight; but as they say, in the world of Mixed Martial Arts, anything can happen.
